Green Sea Turtle Workshop

To enhance students’ understanding of saving endangered species and reflect on human impacts on ecosystems, Ocean Park Conservation Alliance
hosted a green sea turtle-themed educational workshop on November 11, 2025. Member schools ranging from kindergartens to secondary levels under Ocean Park
Conservation Alliance, along with Seahorse Rangers, joined to explore the wonders of marine conservation together.

The first session featured a green sea turtle-themed picture book storytelling workshop, specially arranged by the Ocean Park Conservation Alliance for
kindergarten students. Miss Jojo, on behalf of Rainsteppe Publications, delivered a lively and engaging reading of “Which summer will the Green Turtle come again?”.
Her captivating storytelling and interactive activities immersed students in ocean tales and encouraged them to reflect on the challenges green sea turtles
face during their migration.

Afterwards, students had the valuable opportunity to meet and chat with Ocean Park’s green sea turtle caretaker, Mr. Cola. They asked questions directly
and learned about the living habits of sea turtles and Ocean Park conservation efforts. This interaction ignited their curiosity and compassion for marine
life, while deepening their understanding and respect for species conservation.

After the storytelling session, students visited the Grand Aquarium, where they observed a rich diversity of marine life and marveled at the wonder and
beauty of ocean biodiversity. They also visited back-of-house facilities to learn about the unique characteristics of green sea turtles and how
animal caretakers care for injured and rescued wildlife. A highlight was hearing the story of “Kickboard”, a rescued green sea turtle, which offered deeper insight
into the caretakers’ meticulous and professional approach to dietary management and daily care of animals.

Through this series of inspiring activities, students not only enriched their knowledge of green sea turtles and marine ecology, but also planted the
seeds of conservation in their hearts—realizing that every action can make a positive change for nature and contribute to safeguarding our oceans.
